Silence, by Jon Skovron:
The Minotaur stood perfectly still and tried to look as unthreatening as possible. This was especially difficult since he was in the women's dressing room. The room was narrow, cramped, and filled with chattering females getting ready for that evening's performance. Each make-up station was surrounded by a frame of bare light bulbs that eliminated all shadows and helped the performers see what their make-up would look like under the stage lights. The glare of so many lights reflected off of so many mirrors brought out the uneven gloss of the Minotaur's black horns and the liquid shimmer of his brown eyes. It also brought out the yellow flecks of cud foam in the corner of his mouth and a bit of grass stuck between his teeth. He was acutely aware of this, and yet he did not pick his teeth or lick his bovine lips. Perhaps he knew that those small details made little difference. Everything about him was gross and pungent in that feminine sanctuary.
